In my last post I included a photo of one of my new paintings entitled, “The Quiet Before the Dawn”.
I thought you might like to see the evolution of this piece from the beginning to the completed painting so I’m posting a demonstration video of the process.
It’s a small painting at 27″ x 27″ but makes a big impact. There is a bit of mystery to it that I find intriguing and hope you do too. The metallic gold underpainting radiates warmth that richly balances with the cool blues. This artwork has a landscape feel but is abstract in nature and uses my signature washes and glazes exposing some of the many layers.
