Texture, dimension, and color are the basis for my abstract expressionist artwork. The use of disparate elements are a challenge in bringing a piece together to a conclusion of good contemporary modern design. Each canvas is bold but also brings in subtle nuances of color and meaning that takes the viewer into the painting where they can make new and unexpected insights.
My mixed media paintings are non-representational and are a construction of layers of acrylic paint, washes and glazes on a textured canvas. Many of my paintings include collage elements such as found paper, fabric, pen and pencil.
